Rosemary-n-Thyme Herb Society Of Gaston County - Nov. 2019 BYLAWS
1. The Term of the Executive Committee officers: President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and Member at Large shall be 2 (two) years running from September through August. a. All candidates for office must be current dues paying members, attend meetings on a regular basis and be actively involved in the Rosemary-n-Thyme Society of Gaston County. b. The Vice-President will succeed the President if he/she is unable to complete their term.
2. Executive Committee officers shall have the authority to make emergency decisions contingent upon consultation/polling of the majority of the Rosemary-n-Thyme Herb Society of Gaston County membership. 3. A slate of Executive Committee candidates shall be presented by the nominating Committee at the July meeting of an election year. 4. A vote for the election of the Executive Committee shall be taken at the August meeting of an election year. 5. Rosemary-n-Thyme Herb Society of Gaston County annual dues of $25.00 (twenty-five) per person shall be collected at the opening January meeting of each New Year. Must be paid by the March meeting to be considered in good standing.
Our Mission Statement
Raise awareness of the healthful benefits of using herbs through monthly meetings and community involvement; Foster and nurture friendships, information sharing, plant and recipe exchanges; Maintain and encourage active and new members; and Offer educational opportunities from speakers, members and workshops (subjects range from history of herbs, cooking, medicinal use, aromatherapy, cosmetics, gardening and landscaping with herbs). Be a resource for the community about herbs and share our knowledge.
Officers and Responsibilities
President Presides over the meetings using an informal version of Roberts Rules Keeps track of business documents, including updated bylaws and members list. Oversees and coordinates meetings with committees Vice President Presides over monthly meetings in the President’s absence Oversees program selections and works with Fundraising Secretary Takes minutes of meetings Coordinates with webmaster for posting pertinent information Treasurer Collects monies and keeps accurate records for membership dues, fundraising activities, paid speakers, and church fees Assures that expenses stay within the budget and makes reimbursement payments as needed to appropriate persons. Writes checks, makes deposits, balances checkbook Reports at monthly meetings Gives new member information to the President. At Large Member Serves as a liaison to the members of RnT In case of a tie on the Executive board, can be a tie breaker.

Plant Sale Coordinates the buying and growing of seeds and plants for the plant
sale. Works with Holy Angels
Marketing Coordinates the publicity for events or meeting announcements in newspapers, Facebook and website. Works with a designee for updating our Facebook page on a regular basis.
